My Son Discovers There’s Water in the Toilet

Last Sunday after Sunday worship at church my wife tells me she’s going into the men’s restroom to get Mateo. She didn’t see him right away. She finds him in the stall, scooping water out of the toilet into his mouth. Or maybe just to wash his mouth.

We had lunch at Lamppost Pizza (which is really good, by the way) with a two other young families. Mateo was being willful. He didn’t want to eat. He didn’t want to sit down. I spent most of lunch standing outside with him. We figured he was tired because on Sundays he doesn’t get a morning nap.

When we’re saying good-bye to everyone in the parking lot, he vomits on me. Twice. Read the rest of this entry »

My Son Likes Opera

Madama Butterfly

Today my son and I watched a bit of the tragic opera, Madama Butterfly. He watched the screen attentively. After about fifteen minutes of that, we watched Elmo tap dance.

More Mateo: Photos

We got photos from Halloween, his first birthday party, and a trip to Florida. They’re on Flickr, but you need a to be a Friend or Family on Flickr to view them.

If you’re just one of the unwashed masses, the only photos you’ll be able to view are dogs and A/V geeks.

Astronomy and Conception

at 18 weeks by Lis Mitchell Have I mentioned that my wife is pregnant? That’s right, the planets have aligned again for us. We’re in the second trimester which means that the probability of carrying the baby to term has gone way up. Susan has a good feeling about it which may mean nothing, but I think it means something.
