Top 5 Things To Give Up for Lent

Remember that no matter what you give up for Lent, you don’t fast on Sundays because that is a day of celebration. Buying sugary coffee drinks isn’t on the list, but that’s what I’m doing.

  1. sweets
  2. meat
  3. abominations or church (TIE)
  4. punching people in the throat

I was, of course, using the medieval colloquialism that meat referred to livestock and not fishies. You may not have been familiar with it as it is confined to Derbyshire and a small village in Wales called Mxyzptlk.

      er, red meat. yes.

Is there many people that feel the urge to punch people in the throat? Well, and follow through with it, I guess. I will have to be careful on Sundays and try to avoid those who are needing to make up for missing out on their throat punching all week.
