You might like NewWorldSon. They have a sweet sound. One song I like is “Waitin Til The Rapture Come.” They seem to know what it means to have a Jesus party; I can imagine them breaking out in song in Heaven. They are practically our neighbors, being from Toronto. Travis and I heard a bit of them at an informal jam session last night at Kingdom Bound. Hope you like ‘em.

I’m listening to a lot of Ben Harper and the Innocent Criminals, Carrie Newcomer and Stevie Ray Vaughan.

Ooohhh, and WIlco. Tons and tons of Wilco. And only slightly less Sharon Jones and the Dap-Kings.
So there you go – funky alt.rock; new folk; blues god; alt.folk.country; funk.

I heard a single from Hold Steady called “Sequestered in Memphis” on my NPR station.
I kinda like it. Simply chorus that is stuck in my head. Also, the big rock with horns is like a modern, edgier Bruce Springsteen.
The 30 sec sample on iTunes sucks. Here’s a link to the full song from (studio version).

There’s this podcast I listen to called Indiefeeds, and it’s got one of underground hip-hop; pretty much every song I hear there puts a beat in my step.
