Friendship Code

Rule #1 is you don’t date your friend’s ex. We keep other rules as well. Things you know you’re not supposed to do to your friend. Things you should do for your friend. Greg Gutfeld wrote some down for Men’s Health.

  • Split the tab 50-50. If your share was bigger, pitch in more without being asked.
  • He doesn’t have to call for weeks. Pick up where you left off.
  • But don’t let him be the only one who calls.
  • Get up, get dressed, and go get him when he runs out of gas at 2am. He called you, after all.
  • Nod when asked this question: “Is she great or what?” Especially when she isn’t.

What are your rules?

What Does a Christian Do?

Can you answer something for me? What does a Christian do? Tell me because I have some thoughts on this, but I don’t want to be on my way to mixing Kool-Aid.

DonorsChoose Matches Teachers with Private Donors

You agree that schools are underfunded and teachers are underpaid, right? If you ask teachers, you’ll find that they routinely spend their own money for supplies and resources for their classroom. And if they have a special project they’d like their students to experience, many times money is the obstacle to carrying through. But you can do something about it through DonorsChoose.

A public school teacher submits a proposal for equipment or experience (like a field trip or a guest speaker) and private donors like you and me can fund all or part of the cost. DonorsChoose then makes the purchase and sends a camera and a guide on how to write thank you notes along with the equipment. In a while you’ll receive thank you notes and photos of the students as well as a teacher letter and an expenditure report.

Happy Birthday to My Wife

And a few days earlier we were at her ultrasound (she’s eighteen weeks along). We learned the baby is healthy (spine, kidneys, four-chambered heart, etc.). We also learned we are having a male child. He’s due in November. If he’s anything like his father, he’ll be a few days late.

His Mother Was a She-Wolf

Even though the original The Omen sent me screaming like a little girl with Mary Janes on, I roll my eyes that the new Omen opens today of all days. Someone just couldn’t wait for this date to come so they could make this movie because, you know, it’s spooky, what with all the sixes.

Dooce seems to believe that Former Congressman Chuckles might be the Anti-christ. (That’s her dog’s name).
